We in Birmingham are used to seeing Victoria Square filled with stalls from the German Market – but that’s in the run up to Christmas. This year, for the first time, Birmingham is running a summer equivalent – the International Food Fair. So today the square was looking just as bustling, and there were all the lovely aromas that there are at Christmas!
Victoria Square is filled with food stalls, bars and tables and chairs. There’s everything from paella from Spain, game from Australia and sushi from Japan – plus a “Best of British” section offering locally produced food and drink.
There are continental cheeses, meats, sausages and pastries available. Plus wine, beer and champagne to drink.
The Internation Food Fair is another great initiative from Birmingham’s Conservative-led Council. Entry is free and the fair will be open daily from 10.00am-9.00pm until Sunday June 28th.
