On Saturday I joined the Quinton Councillors at Pitts Wood on Overdale Rd, Quinton where a tidy-up working party up was taking place.
We joined local residents and the organisers of the site in helping to spruce up the area. Cllr Jane James, Cllr Peter Smallbone and I concentrated on helping to cut back overgrowing shrubbery and weeds on the driveway into the wood.
We and the other helpers had soon filled lots of green bags which the Council is taking away this week. The Council will also be coming to spray the front drive to prevent further weed growth.
Fortunately it was dry and warm on Saturday morning. Pitts Wood is a lovely nature area in the heart of Quinton (with lovely bluebells in the spring) and I was happy to play a small part in helping to keep it looking clean and tidy.
