At lunch time I popped along to the launch of the Cardinal Newman Heritage Project, a community learning and participation opportunity taking place in Ladywood and part of the North Edgbaston area. The project will focus on the cultural legacy and investment of the late Cardinal Newman on the area.
The project is taking pace from now until July 2010 and will link into the proposed visit of the Pope to Britain in 2010. Partner organisations for the project include The Oratory School and other local schools, the Ladywood Health and Leisure Centre, the Norman Power Centre (where today’s launch was held), and the Karis Neighbour Scheme. The scheme is being managed by Pisces wm c.i.c.
The project will have support from a community historian, there will be field trips and a community exhibition in early 2010. All in all, it sounds like a really interesting project.
