Today I attended Birmingham’s Service Of Remembrance at Centenary Square. This year the service took place at the ICC end of the square because of building works in the middle.
There was some concern in advance as to how this would work out but it seemed to go very smoothly. A specially built cenotaph was positioned in front of the repertory theatre and this year the wreaths were placed there, rather than at the Hall of Memory.
With a constant stream of casualties from the war in Afghanistan, this year’s service seemed even more poignant than usual. You can read more about it, and see more pictures, on the News section of this website.
