New Plans For Newman University College

Just back from tonight’s Bartley Green Ward meeting held at St Francis Church Centre in Illeybrook Square. A delegation from Newman University College, headed by principal Pam Taylor (pictured below at a Bartley Green Community Fun Day which was held at the University College), gave a presentation about the college’s exciting new plans for the future.

Bartley Green’s very own University College was built in 1968 and has grown over the years. The new plans will see a large library and cafe area added to the front of the building – to help link the building into the community. The main entrance will also be moved to the front with another entrance kept at the side (where the main entrance currently is). Jul 08 264

There will also be other alterations around the site including the building of dedicated sports science laboratories.

The plans are for a low energy building using the very latest technology.  The plans were well received at the meeting and tribute was also paid to Pam Taylor who will be retiring as Principal at Christmas.
