International Development Public Meeting

Andrew Mitchell, Conservative Shadow Spokesman on International Development,  will be speaking about International Development at a public meeting in Edgbaston this week.March 2010 048

The meeting, which has been organised by Edgbaston Conservatives as part of the election campaign, will take place at Walker Hall, Ampton Road, Edgbaston, B15 on Tuesday April 13th at 7.45pm.

Each year 9.2 million children die before they are 5. Every day, 30,000 children die from easily-preventable diseases. 72 million children don’t go to school.  Effective, well-spent aid can work miracles – for example, it has helped to eradicate small pox and almost eliminated polio.

Andrew Mitchell (pictured during a previous visit to the constituency) will speak about the Conservatives’ plans for better aid. For example we will focus our aid on the poorest countries and end aid to Russia and China. There will also be an opportunity for questions.

If you are interested in hearing about the Conservatives’ plans for International Development, do come along.  All welcome!
