Congratulations to Roman Way resident Alan Bennett who chose the name by which the Hospital Link Road will in future be known – New Fosse Way.
Residents were asked to come up with suitable names at a meeting of the Council’s Edgbaston Ward Committee last year. Last week it was announced that the chosen names were New Fosse Way for the Hospital Link Road, and Aston Webb Boulevard for the Selly Oak New Road.
With the new hospital due to open for patients on June 16th, New Fosse Way, will soon be open to motorists. With Metchley (where the new hospital has been built) having once been home to a Roman Fort, New Fosse Way is a very suitable name. Congratulations to Alan for suggesting it!
