Today Cllr James Hutchings and I went to check on the work being done to upgrade the Hollies Croft shopping centre, just off the Pershore Road in Edgbaston.
Work to clear uneven paved areas and take out overgrown shrubs took place earlier this year. Now a new hard surface will be installed and other improvements are going in – such as benches, which we were told are due to be installed tomorrow.
This work is being funded through money from Edgbaston’s Ward Fund and was approved by the three Edgbaston Councillors. When it’s finished, it should make a big improvement to Hollies Croft – an important local shopping centre in Edgbaston as it is home to the only Post Office left in the entire ward.
