On Tuesday of this week it was Birmingham’s October Full Council meeting. There were a number of interesting items on the agenda including a report about transport, another on allotments and the report by Cllr Anderson on the Health and Adults portfolio (the portfolio which the Scrutiny Committee which I chair scrutinises).
Cllr Graham Green and I also put forward a motion for debate on the subject of tuberculosis in the city which provoked a lengthy and interesting debate. There will be a further report on this matter at the Health and Adults Committee meeting next week so I will return to the subject then.
Today I attended a summit organised by Birmingham’s Health and Wellbeing Partnership on the subject of the Government’s recent White Paper on health, during which the Council’s response to this document was shared with the representatives from various health partners in the city.
