Celebrating At The Birmingham Rep

Last night I joined other guests at the Birmingham Rep for a celebration of the theatre’s past present and future.

There were exerts from past shows including The Wizard of Oz and Peter Pan, and an explanation of what is happening in the future.

In January the Rep will close for a couple of years while massive rebuilding work takes place, both within the actual theatre itself, and to form the new link between the Rep Theatre and the new Library of Birmingham (currently being built next door) which will see the two buildings linked together with a shared foyer.

While the building work is going on, the Rep will still be putting on plays – but at other locations around the city including at the newly refurbished MAC, the Alexandra Theatre and at the Old Rep in Station Street.
