Edgbaston’s new pocket park, on the Woodview Estate, opened its doors for the first time this afternoon. Contractors, designers, representatives from Optima, Councillors and local people gathered as local children from Woodview Primary School tried out the play equipment.
There is a great climbing facility using natural wood. A number of new trees have also been planted (including a group of silver birch trees) the aim being to put the “wood” back into Woodview.
There is also a MUGA and other play equipment, and the school children are able to access the park through a gate which leads off the school and community centre grounds. There are also other gates leading straight onto the estate.
It’s a great facility and it was lovely to see the children enjoying the play equipment this afternoon in the spring sunshine.
