Comenius Project at KEHS

This morning I joined staff, Governors and the High Sherriff at King Edward’s High School in Edgbaston Park Road, for an opening ceremony to welcome staff and pupils from 4 different countries, to Birmingham.

The event was taking place as part of the Comenius Project – an international education programme for schools and colleges. The project which KEHS are involved with is called M.E.T.E.R. which stands for Measuring the earth through European students’ research and co-operation. It’s a two year project and KEHS pupils have already visited Athens, Rome, Paris and Romania as part of it. This morning we were shown presentations of those visits.

This week it is the turn of pupils and teachers from those countries to come to England. An interesting programme is planned for them including a visit tomorrow to Greenwich.  It was a very interesting morning and I wish the remainder of the project every success!
