The PFI contract which the Conservative led Council has embarked upon with Amey is progressing well.
As well as new street lighting, pavement and road resurfacng in various places around Edgbaston, you may have noticed new road signs being installed in the area – replacing broken signs and, in some instances, adding in extra signs at T-junctions etc.
Augustus Road is just one example where some new signs have recently been installed.
When I visited the Amey (former Council) depot at Thimblemill Lane recently, I saw piles of new signs waiting to be taken out to the various wards for installation. The picture shows a pile destined for Lordswood Rd in neighbouring Harborne Ward.
