Half Marathon

Today was Birmingham’s Half Marathon and the route travelled through Edgbaston (along the Pershore Road). It’s one of these events where the needs of the city have to be carefully weighed against the inconvenience caused to residents who live on the route and who lose vehicular access for part of the day.

An officer from the Council came to the last Edgbaston Ward Meeting to brief residents, and has been liaising with people who live along the route.

Today the sun shone on the estimated 15,000 citizens who took part. The picture shows the water station located at the junction with Pebble Mill Road in Edgbaston, from where I watched part of the race during a short break from campaigning.
