Yesterday Paul Squires from the company building the new student flats on the corner of Waterworks Road and Harold Road, presented a cheque for £600 to our local Edgbaston police for the purchases of high visibility jackets and other equipment.
Before the presentation, we all looked around the new flats. There will be accommodaton for 39 students – some will have completely self contained rooms, and the others will be bedsits with shared kitchen facilities.
The new flats, which are called Bywater House, are positioned between the famous two towers – Perrotts Folly and the Waterworks Tower – which should make them very desirable to Tolkein fans! The new student flats will be ready for occupation at the end of the summer.
