This week was a first for Edgbaston Ward Committee – we held our bi-monthly Council Ward Meeting in the beautiful surroundings of the Botanical Gardens in Edgbaston. Many thanks to them for hosting it.
The room was full of local residents who had come along to hear about future plans for the Gardens, the separate Guinea Gardens, and the various school and other sports facilities (such as the CroquetClub, Edgbaston High School playing fields, West House sports field and the Edgbaston Archery & Lawn Tennis Club) at the rear of the gardens. Various land swaps are suggested in order to try and improve facilities for everyone.
We also had a presentation on the plans for the Icknield Port Loop area north of Edgbaston Reservoir.
Other subjects raised were parking, the Mobility action plan (no officer turned up to present this so it was left to a Planning Officer and me to cover), and green wheelie bins.
A good meeting, with a high turn out and in beautiful surroundings.
