Approximately two weeks ago, the Council spent time, trouble and money painting cross hatching, a large yellow bus stop marking, and numerous white cycle signs on the pot-holed carriageway the length of Arthur Road, Edgbaston (as part of a new cycle route they are trying to publicise).
And then, this weekend, that same Council ripped up the entire road surface to relay it. Tonight the road is closed while the new brand new surface is laid.
Just the one damaged cycle drawing remains (see above). All the rest of the brand new markings have been ripped up – just a couple of weeks after they were put in.
Remember this utter waste of public money the next time you hear a Labour Councillor or candidate bleat that Birmingham City Council is short of funds. Labour clearly cannot be trusted to spend the money which they do have wisely.
