A busy evening in the ward tonight. While Cllr Matt Bennett was attending the monthly Woodview Residents’ Association meeting, Cllr Fergus Robinson and I went to the Learning Hub for the counting of the votes in the Roman Way reballot.
Over the past few weeks, residents have been voting on whether they wanted to continue having their estate run by a Tenant Management Organisation, or whether they wanted to revert to management by the City Council.
All the votes cast had been collected into a sealed ballot box, which Fergus ceremonially cut open.
The votes were then counted by an independent adjudicator.
The result was a resounding success for the TMO with 93% of those who voted, electing to stay with the TMO. 42% of those eligible to vote, took part in the ballot.
Congratulations to the TMO for winning such a resounding vote of confidence in their organisation, and here’s to another successful five years for the Roman Way TMO.
