Dealing With Parking Issues In Edgbaston

Parking is one of the biggest issues currently in Edgbaston with many residents saying the area is starting to resemble “one big car park”. Labour’s city centre congestion charge will only make things worse as we will be on the edge of the charging ring – the very place where people are likely to leave their cars to avoid paying to go into the city centre.

Yesterday I met up with the District Engineer to look at an area where residents have asked for some small alterations to the current restrictions. Hopefully we will be able to introduce new regulations in several different small areas around the ward this financial year – to improve the situation for residents and road users alike.
